The Islands of Seychelles are what dreams are made of. It consists of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean just off the coast of East Africa. The ocean waters are beautiful and made up of various hues of blues and turquoise. Every year the main islands of Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue have gained more visitors as it is a great place to indulge in the ultimate island destination. There are so many picturesque beaches, an unreal amount of natural beauty, and there are so many things to explore while you're visiting.

#1 Island Hop

It's one of the main things that I would recommend to anyone visiting Seychelles. To go and enjoy one of the other islands for the day. There are various options to choose from while visiting. I stayed on the island of Mahe and woke up at 9 a.m to catch the fast ferry over to La Digue and then Praslin. It took about 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to La Digue, 15 minutes to get from La Digue to Praslin, and 1 hour from Praslin back to Mahe. It was an all-day adventure for me, and it was worth it. I ended up using the website Seychelles Bookings (website here) to purchase our fast ferry tickets in advance.

#2 Rent a Bike on La Digue

La Digue is such a cute and quaint island located in Seychelles. It's one of the only islands that I would recommend renting a bike while there. It is such a relaxing experience and one of the best ways to get around on the island. You won't have to worry about cars because there are very few vehicles on the island. Both locals and tourists are getting around via bicycle. There is a bicycle rental available, which will cost 240 SCR per person (that's $17).

#3 Visit L'Union Estate

Another must-do while on the island of La Digue is visiting the old coconut and vanilla plantation. It will cost 115 SCR ($8), and you'll be able to explore the entire L'Union Estate. Being able to bike in and see all of the lush vegetation surrounding the estate is beautiful. One of the best parts is coming across the enclosure of giant Aldabra Tortoises. You can interact with them, and they leave vegetation nearby so you can feed them.

#4 Relax on Anse Source d'Argent

You can't go to La Digue without checking out Anse Source d'Argent beach. It is located on the L'Union Estate plantation. Anse Source d'Argent is so breathtakingly beautiful, and it's one of the reasons why Seychelles is so special. There were only 4 of us out there laying in the sand and our eyes gracing the beautiful, warm turquoise waters and gigantic boulders.

#5 Shop at Victoria Market

Victoria is the capital of Mahe, Seychelles, and it is the smallest capital in the world. But it has a market that hosts various vendors that you can shop with selling fresh fruit, herbs/spices, fish, clothing, and other craft items. It's the perfect place to grab a few items from locals to take back a few souvenirs from your trip.
